Before you think that this is going to be a great spiritual story post, it isn’t…. though to me, it is a as the heading says! Not too much of blessing came out of my 4 1/2 year joust with USA Immigration (though as I think you know now, the reason for the denial of my application was, it seems, absolutely nothing to do with me…. but to do with ‘people’ and the ‘accounts’ of the church that I once – thought? – I was part of… 🙁 ) or the 3 years I spent more time that from 2006 – and, finally, as you know, I got my shipment back after massive expense and hassle…. choosing to walk away, rather than appoint a lawyer to sue and a private investigator to ‘research’ the situation was a bit more of difficult decision than I’d have thought!
BUT…. in my shipment…. was a recliner chair that I bought in 2006, for a ridiculous ‘knock-down’ price – about £150, and that arrived at my house literally 30 minutes before I left for France last Wednesday evening – a wonderful blessing! It’s like sitting on marshmallow, but I’d really forgotten just how big it is – in my larger, squarer living room in the USA, it didn’t seem big. Here, it’s massive – but who cares, it’s delightfully comfortable, with the danger warning that it’s dead easy to fall asleep in it very quickly, which won’t help someone who, if I fall asleep for 10 minutes in the evening, there’s no pint in going to bed until at least 3am! But I’ll suffer for the blessing…. going to have to ditch a bit of furniture to make it less dominating though!
