After a relatively ‘quiet’ day, if anything in Cali is EVER quiet(!) – lots of shopping – exciting stuff like food, water, milk, bread, butter! – and, of course, liquid sustenance (fruit juices – what else!), cambios (money changing), cash machine (cajero here – much shorter!), our first meeting was in a (new to me) church: where, I have no idea! It was a great blessing, too, as both Brian & I reckon that my knees were a direct target for the enemy, as during the day, they were absolutely terrible….but, thankfully, after a lot of prayer, they did pretty well tonight….we knew because of that it was going to be a great meeting.
And it was. The church is called ‘Jesus – Source of Freedom’, pastored by a lovely man, Alexander Muñoz. Probably 50 or so, plus a load of kids there. Brian broke his duck, and shared in a Colombian church for the first time, very well, and Johan, translating, had no problem with a Scottish accent! Brian shared his testimony, which I did a ‘work around’ using his Scripture verse – Ephesians 2:4… linking it with Isaiah 35. Don’t ask me how… though I ha notes there, they remained stolidly in another part of my Bible!
We reckon that just about everyone came for prayer for healing: Johan and Brian took one side, Wilmar & I the other. I know from ‘our’ side the story is that EVERYONE was healed, who could know they were healed – one young lady, with cancer of the uterus will know on Wednesday when she goes for a scan…. we’ll try to get her story as soon as possible! Astonishingly, between us, SEVEN sets of knees were instantly healed! And no, I don’t get jealous… just laugh at Satan because I know that MY knees have made me pray with utter conviction – and aggression? – at wrecked knees. A guy – Edwin – looked awful, quite young (30’s), in pain from neck to ankles, intense in his shoulders and legs – all as a result of stress. I prayed into the cause of the stress, and did a ‘physical’ act of lifting the weight off of his shoulders – and he visibly straightened as it happened, and all of his pain went. Three people with hernias were healed – they felt them and the resultant pain – go. One lady, with severe pain from gastritis, was healed instantly…. and so it begins, uh…. needles and pins uh… (you’ve got to be pretty old to remember that Searchers song from about ’65 – I remember most of the words!). People felt heat, and – yes – needles and pins/tingling…. Pretty much the same story from Brian – one will know in a few months time if she’s healed. and in 9 months time when her longed-for baby arrives.
A good number of severe back pain folk were healed, including two with acute sacroiliac problems. The pastor called a few forward to testify, but most people are too shy to go up to the microphone, especially when the gringoes are there! A lovely young mum, Caroline (normally Carolina here, so it threw me for a mo!) – a lot of pain in her legs, which went, and severe depression resulting from a brutal husband/failed marriage… her face was transformed as we left the church, a huge, huge smile…. it’s such a privilege to be allowed ‘inside’ people’s lives, albeit for just some minutes or so….
Tomorrow, busy day! Church 9am, picked up 8.30…. then an afternoon seminar on healing for leaders, immediately followed by a healing meeting in my friend Francisco’s church… so I guess we’re looking at 8.30 am until about 10.30 pm! Tonight was lovely, to end a great evening, we went to the super French bar over the road from our apartment, with Wilmar & Marlene, his wonderful wife, and Johan, and has their amazing french fries (more like chip-shop chips!), and some brown juice out of small dark bottles, from Mexico…..
