When you go on a ministry trip, whether national or international, a team is only as good as the ‘weakest’ person on it. Over many years, I’ve been blessed with very few teams that I’ve taken with me – maybe numbered in single digits under 5! – that have raised concern or disappointment. This last one, to Cali, was outstanding. It’s a real tribute to Chris Spark, Brian Louden, and Paul Goodman – generally agreed across the four of us – that nothing went wrong, that God moved so amazingly, that such a high percentage of people (90-95%) who were prayed for were healed, people saved, lives changed, churches blessed…
Thank you, Chris, Paul, and Brian – so willing to do ANYTHING asked of them, whether in or out of their previous experience comfort zones…all of them preached brilliantly, prayed in faith and with belief and power, and saw God do things that, had they chosen to stay within their comfort zones in the UK, would likely NEVER have seen…. You were fantastic to be with, guys, such a blessing to me that you were there, in obedience to God’s call on your lives, and a blessing to me in countless other ways, too. All of them were brilliant with this limping old geezer, walking as slow as they could manage to keep up with me! – warning me of steps, dips in the pavement, uneven pavements – the sorts of things that really don’t ‘bless’ people with dodgy knees – offering to walk downstairs in front of me or provide a shoulder to assist with balance.
I’m still in awe of what God did – I hope that situation never changes in the next 40 years of ministry tips (!!) -as well as being totally frozen stiff in the (current) 11°C temperature of Northern Ireland, as opposed to the (never less than) 26°C (evening!) and 35-38°C temperatures of wonderful Cali, Colombia. Central heating on tonight, I reckon… and log fire, too! Makes a change from desperately aiming for the air conditioner switch…. I must stopped typing now as two of my fingers have snapped off….
