A collective of ‘siccarios’ – (called an ‘officina’) – get to hear the gospel and get healed tonight….

My lovely friends Hernan and Aida Gonzalez pastor a wonderful church in the district Simon Bolivar: one of the most dangerous in the city, where the largest population of siccarios live. Siccarios are guys whose sole job is to go, on motorbikes, to kill whoever you want killed…. two men on a motorbike is illegal here, as pretty much always the front one is the driver, the back one the shooter… in the years I’ve been going to Hernan’s church, odd ones and twos have dared to go to the meetings, and been healed, and saved… they constantly ask Hernan ‘When is the Englishman coming back?’ – that could fill me with fear, or excitement – it’s the latter, I’m thrilled to say!…

A few years ago, I was in a taxi, about 30 feet behind two guys on a motorbike, and I wondered if what I’d heard was fiction… until the gun came out, two shots fired, two people – including a politician – dead in a car… these guys are good…

In April, he talked to many who wanted to meet me…. Hernan invited them to church, but, understandably, they didn’t want to be in church en mass. I said to Hernan that Jesus would go to where THEY are… and suggested he fix up a meeting, either on the street, or in a home of the siccarios, or somewhere they’d be happy to go, and we’d go to them….

Tonight’s the night!!!!!! Yeahhhhhh!!!!!! – Saturday, 6.30 pm Colombia time, 0030 UK time…. 0930 am eastern Australia time, 1930 east coast USA time…. please, please pray for us. I don’t see it a a risk, though humanly it is (people here have told me that it’s suicide!!!! Nah!!!!) – it’s the most amazing opportunity to be with guys who have no hope, no choice but to do what they do (they were born into that lifestyle), and desperately need Jesus….

Hernan was so excited when I suggested it in April: he’s got a relationship with them, and they know that through the church, and through my team’s visits of a few years, the ‘territorial spirit’ over Simon Bolivar is changing. Please pray for the ‘open heaven’ over so many parts of this of this wonderful city
