For anyone who doesn’t use Facebook, or didn’t read the BBC News report of the British Airways plane fire in Los Angeles yesterday, you might wonder who Reggie Bugmuncher is. He is one of the people the Beeb interviewed about the fire. I am so in awe of his name, I think I might change mine by deed poll!! I hate to say it, but only in America… 😉 . With a name like that, I can genuinely feel that I’m the new Bear Grylls!
It’s strange how much ‘how we feel’ or what we experience, is affected by words. The Apostle James got it so right when he talked about the power of the tongue…. I’ve found myself fighting today since my early appointment with the doctor, who told me what the x-rays revealed about the state of my knees, and a huge increase in pain since hearing his words, though, of course, they’re no different from yesterday, or last Friday. I frequently pray for people who have received negative medical words spoken over them by doctors – who obviously only speak what they see, but faith is believing for what we haven’t yet seen…
So tonight I’m closing the ‘book’ on what I read on the doc’s screen this morning, and believing even more fervently for my new ones from heaven’s warehouse of new body parts. Perhaps Reggie’s got good knees in good working order…. 🙂
