You can imagine I sat and watched it, and claimed it for myself! I posted a bit about my knees here on September 9: what I DIDN’T mention was that some time before that, I’d been going down the stairs in my house (my stairs are UNBELIEVABLE! Even young people with good knees complain about them: they’re very steep, narrow, shallow treads, and deep risers – a ‘nightmare’ for a dodgy-kneed individual like me!) – and as I was about to put my full weight on my right knee, it decided it wanted to bend the other way, backwards…. 🙁 . Fortunately, I managed to stop putting all my weight on it, but…. well, I won’t bore you with the pain level, nor that I couldn’t walk for a couple of days…! When I did walk, I had to get some shopping, and I was almost unconscious with the pain as I went around the supermarket. I headed to the loo as I thought I was going to throw up, but the disabled loo was locked, as they so often are…So, to see the video of that lovely, blessed man getting brand new knees, is wonderful.
BUT – it begs a question, raised by Svetlana, and countless millions down the ages, as to WHY God does something like that instantly for one person, and not for another. My right knee has been wrecked – osteoarthritic – for over 13 years now, my left one for 8 years. In my walk with God, I’ve learned to thank him for what he does for others, especially those he chooses to heal, or ‘miracle’, through my prayers. But I do understand the frustration, bewilderment, even anger, when it happens for one person and not, instantly, for another. My ‘advantage’ is that I have 45 years of being a follower of Jesus, and have learned the hard way, often, to thank him even WHEN there appears to be no change.
Svetlana wrote this to me, after seeing the man with the knees:

Hello Paul)))) We dont have any exiting news (things are pretty much same – pain, nausea, leak) yet but the main thing is that Sergey is still alive which is a miracle itself!!! I saw the post about Joaquin Evans and his ability to get people healed. I sent him a message about Sergey but I do not believe he will answer as we are not friends on FB and he does not know anything about us.. are you friends? Maybe you can tell him about Sergey? Or it does not work when someone far away?.. Sergey so weak and he cant even talk sometimes as he has no strength for it(((
Ooops – reached wrong button and sent the message too fast) I also thought if you send some message to Sergey it would be also great – he is always so happy when people remember him and send support! Love from all of us!!!And just more recently, this: - Thank you Paul..Thank you for all your encouraging words and support.. Sergey`s eyes don`t have that light of life in them any more…even hope left him.. he has permanent nausea, if he takes any fluids in he is nearly vomiting straight away… he is not able to walk… even he never told it but I think he expects himself to die any time..any moment..any second.. Im trying to support him and his mum does it as well – but it seems to be over for him.. not sure which miracle can change it and bring life back..I dont know…
I SO understand her dilemma. Bless her, she Is thanking God for Sergey’s life: that IS a major miracle, as he’s now been home from hospital (I think) for 5 weeks, and was really given a couple of days when he was released from hospital. Answering the question why is impossible…. to be able to give an answer as to WHY God instantly heals some, and not others, and yet still others, not at all… would put us in the place of God. Sovereignty is solely God’s sphere: but I would ask you to pray for Sergey and Svetlana as they continue to walk through this trying, tough time.
Friends have been to see them today: that always encourages them, blesses them, lifts their spirits, and my prayer is that, having journey with this foul disease for many months now, that God will accelerate his sovereign will, and bring total healing to my friend Sergey….
