Testimonies 2

REVELATION 19:10 says, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” – when we hear about what Jesus did, and just as importantly, IS doing, it become prophetic for us to claim for ourselves. That’s why I love to tell of what Jesus is doing today, to continually re-emphasize the truths of these Scriptures:

ISAIAH 53:4-5  “Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed”.

PSALM 103:2-3   “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…”

MATTHEW 10:1   “He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness”.

MATTHEW 16:19   (Jesus) “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven”.

MARK 16:17   “And these signs will accompany those who believe:… (18) they will place their hands on sick people and the will get well”.

JOHN 14:12   (Jesus) “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father”.

1 CORINTHIANS 2:4  (Paul – the other one!)  “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuavie words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power”.

I can’t do anything: I’d be the first to acknowledge I’m not a great preacher, that I can’t heal anyone. But what I do know is that God uses the foolish, the weak,and the willing to do what Jesus did, and I’m so glad that I naturally fall into the first two of those categories, and have chosen to be one of the willing….

JESSICA THUNKER, Jordan, Minnesota

Suffering from chronic scoliosis, Jessica was soon to be married, and her spinal condition was likely to severely endanger her chances of having children. She had been prayed for many times, and each time her condition worsened. This particular Sunday morning, she was first to respond to the call for healing, and both Jessica and I felt her spine moving as I laid my hand on her back, and she was healed instantaneously.

JOSELLINA, Cali, Colombia

A near 40 year old mother, Josellina was dying with cancer: worse still, during the course of treatment, she had suffered radiation burns, and her skin was charred and crisp. The radiation excess was killing her far quicker than the cancer. She was healed immediately, I discovered,  and a yearafter praying for her, we met at a meeting – it was a time of great rejoicing!

ERIN CURTIN, Seattle, Washington State, USA

Erin’s video testimony will appear on the site very soon – we met as she was student in a Youth with a Mission school in Perth, Australia, that I had been speaking at. Erin was then 20, and she had destroyed both knees training for and taking part in long distance running. She was due replacement knee surgery on her return to the USA. It is wonderful to say that she received new knees that same afternoon, and testified to God’s miraculous healing the next day in a meeting.

 

OSCAR, San Francisco, Cartagena, Colombia

For a Latino, man or woman, hair is very important! Oscar was a 34 yr old man in a real ghetto suburb of Cartagena when he came to a Crusade meeting – the first ever held in his area, with the first ‘gringo’ preacher.. He had been born with hereditary alopecia, unable to grow hair; embarrassed, insecure and unable to get a job because of his poor self esteem. Prayed for him 3 times, nothing seemed to happen. 6 months later, I was back in San Francisco, to be met by a guy with hair almost to his waist, a ‘five o’clock’ shadow, hair on his arms, unrecognisable… 10 days after being prayed for, black ‘dots’ appeared all over his body, and he started growing hair like there was no tomorrow! he never looked back…

Mention of this Oscar’s story encouraged the parents of Oscar Logan to respond as the name was common to both, and Irish Oscar’s story is told on the main testimony page!

RAFAEL, Universtiy Hospital, Cali, Colombia

Almost comatose, Rafael was dying with anal and bowel cancer in this huge hospital in October 2006. Given maybe two days to live, his family were weeping around his bed. Talking to Rafael directly, rather than ‘through’ his relatives, I asked if I could pray for him, suggesting that, although I normally ask to lay hands on the ‘afflicted’ parts (where it is appropriate!), in his case I wouldn’t, bearing in mind the location of his cancer. He opened his eyes, laughed, and said ‘feel free to, everyone else does!’…at the moment he laughed, I knew he was healed, and prayed for God to drive out the disease. A week later, Rafael was going home, totally recovered.

GABRIELA GARCIA, Clinica Santillana, Cali, Colombia

Suffered oxygen deprivation during surgery recently (Nov 07) and lost most motor functions. After prayer, she is fully restored!

GUNNAR, Vininige, Sweden

In a more-than-packed church in a small Swedish town, God did a lovely creative miracle for Gunnar, a man of perhaps 70 years old. He’d suffered a stroke some 15 years previous I was informed, and his eyelids had shrunk back into the sockets as a result of the paralysis as a result of the stroke, and he was unable to blink or close his eyes for sleep. Had the joy of praying for him, a man of faith who’d received prayer for this many time: as I prayed (on a Wedensday evening) found myself saying that by the weekend he’d be blinking…. God is so good and faithful, Gunnar was blinking by the Saturday!

JALBER, Cali Colombia

Jalber tells his own story on the testimony page in a video clip (to be uploaded soon!). I met him in the hospital Departamental (University hospital) Cali, when he was dying with cirrhosis, peritonitis, and leuchaemia. He was curled, foetal shaped on his bed one Thursday: responded to prayer, and a week later, the video you can watch was filmed the day the hospital finally decided he was totally healed and well enough to go home…

CAROLINA, Skara, Sweden

Whilst praying for Carolina at the end of a meeting, she told me that she had terminal cancer, and had been given very little time to live. As I began to pray for her, I could feel her body ‘pulling’ faith out of me, which was an amazing experience. I called to my travelling friends Heidi and Tim to come and pray with me, and both felt the same experience. Swedish friend Sonia came to pray too, and couldn’t stand up as the power of the Holy Spirit poured over and into Carolina. She walked out declaring that she knew she had received total healing.

SARAH, Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Sarah had fallen off a skateboard two days before and had severe fractures of her arm. She said she was far too busy to have it plastered (!), so we prayed… and by the evening service it was healed.
