Trying to think of a title for some of these blogs is increasingly difficult…. superlatives can often sound false, but the truth is what’s going on here in Cali this week (as always, but it always seems to get better) is truly amazing. My lovely French friends flew in this evening, and I got William to bring them straight to the meeting, as there’s no better way to be introduce to this wonderful city than to see miracles, even if you haven’t slept for 24 hours, due to travelling from Paris to Madrid to Bogota to Cali…
After a wonderful morning, tonight we were in a church in Los Lagos (The Lakes), one of the ‘dodgiest’ districts of the very poor quarter of the city, Agua Blanca. I’ve been to the church – Oasis de Restauracion (Oasis of Restoration) – a few times, and seen God do some marvellous miracles. Chris spoke really well from Isaiah 61: a
great lead in to praying for the sick, and the poor! Tonight was definitely one of those nights. The French folk arrived bang on cue, and started praying for people immediately.
Here’s Chris’s facebook post from an hour ago:

Well, “amazing” doesn’t do that justice…
I ‘teamed up’ with Elisa, and between us, we did pretty well in communicating, despite Elisa’s tiredness! Now I’m wracking my brains trying to remember who we prayed for and for what….
- Carlos – healed instantly of vertigo, suffered it for 5 years
- Manuel – wrecked right knee healed
- Gladys – healed of several emotional issues
- Paola – Chris prayed for her, healed of knee and ankle damage, and ‘full body’ arthritis – all her pain went
- Daniel – a young man with spinal problems and resultant pain, prayed for by Lydie and Gerard, on the ground doing press-ups
- A lady whose name I can’t recall, had seriously arthritic legs, her knees both turned outwards, her feet mis-shapen because of those legs… all her pain went: my belief is that by tomorrow the legs will be straight, as God doesn’t do half a job….
…. I must gather my thoughts and chat to the others about names and what they were healed of, but I prayed for a couple of other people with spinal issues, both healed. I prayed, too, with Elisa, for a lovely 6 year old boy with chronic epilepsy, and paralysed, unable to walk. Pece certainly came over him, and his mum, Silvia: if I’m honest, I wanted to see him walk, but he didn’t – yet….
Many, many more… God is so amazing.
Earlier, a friend asked for some videos of testimonies… generally, I find it imposible to stop praying for someone who is still sick, and get the video camera out: it seems
a bit callous, and to be honest, it doesn’t occur to me until after they’ve gone. But the Pastor, Wilson Monroy, kicked off the evening by getting a young lady, who’d just been diagnosed with severe scoliosis, to tell how she was instantly healed last time I was there. I took the opportunity to ask her to tell her story on video, and this is the link:

Then, right at the end, a young man, who hadn’t been in the meeting – I guess working late – arrived in his full motorbike gear, to come and say thank you: last time, he was in excruciating pain with a trapped sciatic nerve, and sciatica. He was healed instantly, too….
And the meeting was preceded by one of the wildest Andes thunderstorms I’ve ever sen and heard. I thought the apartment windows were going to get blown in, or hailed in: you could only see a few yards as the rain was like a wall. It was fantastic! What an astonishing day!
