Well, what can I say without being boring??! Another amazing day in Londonderry and Feeny yesterday.
The day began by hearing that some folk who’d been prayed for in previous visits, had had their healing – miracle? when it’s cancer – confirmed by tests – a lovely man, Columba, from a couple of weeks’ back, with cancer, having the all clear Thursday…. Columba was one of 13 or 14 people in a house we went to where I was expecting to pray for one man – Joe – with cancer, and there was ‘doctor’s waiting room’ full of people when we arrived! 5½ hours praying, all of them healed
Irene, a lady with osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, sciatica, fibromyalgia – an in chronic pain, has had no pain at all for 2 weeks, and is sleeping like a baby – sleep was a major problem for her. Talked to her on the phone yesterday, and she’s just flying!! It’s like having a whole new life… later in the day yesterday, saw her sister, Amy, with severe COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease … It includes the conditions emphysema and chronic bronchitis – for some years, causing major breathing issues, 35% lung capacity and effectiveness. Her breathing was shallow and rapid while we were with her. During the prayer for her, her whole body relaxed, and she began to breathe in large lung-fulls of air. She said she felt ‘wind’ in through her nostrils – something I pray for asthmatics and people with COPD is that God will breathe the breath of his Holy Spirit in through the nostrils of the person – Amy had exactly that sensation. I asked her what ‘action’ she would do that would make breathing especially hard: it was putting the duvet cover on, and then shaking it on the bed to straighten it. She went and did it – for ages! – and when she came back to the kitchen, her face was a picture of amazement, breathing perfectly, and healed…
Cissy, from 3 months ago – 87 years old, with 30 year-long kidney problems, acute pain, and up 10-12 a night to go to the bathroom, so suffering from sleep deprivation, too. That day, 3 months ago, I felt to say to her that she’d sleep 8-9 hours that night, and from then on…. thank you, Lord, that’s just what’s happened for her, which has totally changed the quality of her life, especially as she has to look after Noel, one of her sons, who is handicapped. God’s power and kindness are just wonderful.
Mickey, from 2 weeks ago – cancer, short life expectancy: deaf: and with serious problems with his tear ducts, his eyes leaked incessantly: Mickey got his hearing while we were with him, and his eyes stopped leaking straight away. He heard last week, having been back to the oncologist and had lots of tests, that he’s completely clear of cancer….. he’s 87, too! I think it’s wonderful that God isn’t worried about age!
First up yesterday was a lovely man it’s been my pleasure to get to know quite well in recent months, moving on with God, but held back by a lot of very real fears from the past and present – agoraphobia, being with people, sleeping at night, and more… just hugged him as I prayed, and halfway through praying, his whole body just shuddered, and then relaxed, he breathed in a great gulp of the Holy Spirit, and was free…. it’s such a privilege to be ‘allowed’ on the inside of people’s lives and problems, and to see God move in, on, and over them….
Last, was Emma, who I’ve mentioned a few times now: the lovely mum, 37, who’s had 5 brain tumours in the past 14 years, and been done untold damage through surgery, including too much of her brain cortex being removed ‘to make sure the tumours have gone’…. affecting her right side (when we first met, she could do hardly anything with the right side of her body), taking away some of the voice and memory, and much of her sight. We’ve been to Emma and her husband, Harry, a cool Australian with so much love for his wife, her sister and brother, Clare and Rory, a few times: every time there’s been a huge improvement. First time, movement to her right side came back, and she went out, in the street, walking that afternoon: her sight improved dramatically… seeing her is actually uplifting, she’s so ‘up’ despite the past 14 years, and I truly believe that God is running on the back of her attitude and bringing transformation, and yesterday, she looked amazing, full of energy, her speech is much-restored, she’s up and walking around without a second thought. This is one absolutely astonishing miracle in the making: I’m so grateful to God that he’s enabled me to be involved with Emma and Harry, and their daughter, Hope.
AMAZING, AMAZING GOD!!!!!!
